I loved the look of my curly long hair, until every hood made me dread leaving the house.

Put the hood up: style flattened, frizz around the crown, breakage at the ends, acne along the hairline from sweaty fabric. I asked friends, same story. We all wanted to wear a hoodie LIKE A HOODIE, without sacrificing our hair or skin.

I went down the rabbit hole: satin pillowcases, satin-lined hoods, every “hack.” Most were polyester; shiny, hot, and still rough on hair. The fashion part didn’t help either: “premium” hoodies that looked great online arrived stiff, flimsy, or nothing like the photos. Corners cut. Materials swapped. Another return.

So I built the hoodie I couldn’t find.

First, the fabric science done properly. We use independently lab-verified 100% Mulberry silk for our lining (the kind of testing brands use to confirm fiber content and safety, not marketing buzz; reports available on request). And we match it with GOTS-certified organic cotton for the outer shell and hoodie body, meaning the cotton fiber sourced meets strict organic, environmental, and social criteria through third-party certification. Finally, the fashion: a 480GSM French terry exterior with a clean, boxy silhouette; a face-framing hood that holds shape; tone-on-tone embroidery; hidden side-entry pockets. Minimal outside. What changed

• I put the hood up without fear. Hair glides against silk (less friction), styles last longer, ends feel less stripped, and the lining breathes so it doesn’t get clammy. I’m not choosing between looking put-together and feeling comfortable. I’m getting both.
